Art drawing commission
Steps
1 First, send me your request as you can describe it at the moment.
2 I then send you a form (illustration briefing) with which I ask you to specify your wishes: target group, format, motif, colour selection, text, quantity, use, additional orders, price, time frame.
3 You send me back the completed illustration brief. I then check whether your wish is clear to me and contact you if necessary.
4 We open our schedules and decide at what date the project should start.
5 I create a pencil design and add digital colours so that we get an atmospheric impression.
6 Feedback 1
You give me your feedback on the pencil design as soon as possible, if necessary with your change requests.
7 On this basis, I create the full version of the desired drawing.
8 Feedback 2
You give me your feedback on this full version as soon as possible, with change requests if necessary. Up to five change details are included in the base price.
9 I create the final version and send it to you in the desired digital format.
10 If a print has been commissioned, I wait for your approval. After this, I hand over the print order to the printing company and send you the finished printed goods to the delivery address specified in the briefing.

Usage rights
Unless we have agreed exclusive rights of use for you, I may also use the drawing for other purposes. For example, a detail of the motif can be sold as a postcard in a bookshop without your text and, if necessary, changed. Such income opportunities enable artists to continue to create art. Frequently Asked Questions
From the starting day of the project that we agreed together, I give myself up to 2 weeks for the realization of our image. In exceptional cases, this can take up to 4 weeks.
To support my progress, I ask you to report your feedback and change requests back to me as soon as possible.
Please feel free to ask, depending on my schedule I can make this possible or not.
The price results mainly from the complexity of the motif. In addition, there are price surcharges for handwritten text in the image or embedding logos.
Example: Low complexity 480 euros, one line of text in the image 180 euros, web use 190 euros.
Basic principle: usage rights are granted for a fee; they determine how a drawing may be used. The price depends on the extent of use.
Scope of usage:
- Geographic reach (local, national, international)
- Time duration (one-time, temporary, unlimited)
- Number of media (print, online, social media, etc.)
- Exclusivity (exclusive vs. non-exclusive)
Examples:
- Baby card – 200 pieces, only distributed to close contacts → rights of use already included in my basic price.
- Music poster – international presence (online + offline) → usage rights are calculated separately based on the above factors.
Artistic works such as graphics or drawings are created through the use of time, creativity, experience and professional skills. Once their creation is complete, they can be technically reproduced indefinitely and used in a wide variety of contexts.
As the scope of their publication and application grows, so does the value it creates for clients and users. Illustrations can make a significant contribution to the success of a campaign, the impact of a message or the profiling of a product.
An appropriate participation of the artist in this resulting added value serves to balance value creation and remuneration. It takes into account the fact that it is not only the one-time creation of a work, but above all the scope and economic use of a work that determines its actual economic value.
Online usage rights are agreed separately. You can find my standard price for this in the price list. Higher prices apply for bigger scopes.
